Special Education

  • Greencastle-Antrim School District follows the state (22 PA Code Chapter 14) and federal guidelines (IDEA P.L. 105-17) for participation of students with disabilities in the general curriculum to the maximum extent appropriate in accordance with an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Special Education curriculum is grounded in the general education curriculum.
  • The following Special Education curriculum is GASD's efforts to follow these standards utilizing current technology to develop an IEP.
  • Adaptations or modifications to the general curriculum that are unique to meeting the student's needs are the foundation of special education.
  • The following course goals and objectives are provided for the development of IEP's to meet the individual student needs. They are not intended to be all-inclusive but illustrate the range of skills needed to participate in the general curriculum.
  • Additional specialized curricula for low-incident populations are provided through the Lincoln Intermediate Unit No. 12.
